In Metroville lives the Parr family:
- Bob Parr, once the mighty Mr. Incredible, now reads claim forms behind a gloomy desk at Insuricare.
- His wife, Helen, formerly Elastigirl, now handles three kids at home.
- Their children: Violet, a shy middle schooler who hides behind her forceāfield powers; Dash, a speedādemon who canāt stop running in place; and baby JackāJack, still a mystery even to himself.
Bob secretly fights crime on Wednesday nights with his best friend, Lucius āFrozoneā Best, but the thrill fades against the monotony of filing insurance paperwork.
ā ļø Chapter 2: That Fateful Wedding Day
It all starts on the day Bob marries Helen. On his way, he heroically stops a runaway train and a bank robberyābut unintentionally causes massive property damage.
As a tenāyearāold fanboy named Buddy Pine eagerly offers himself as Bob’s sidekick, Bob rebuffs him. Heartbroken, Buddy vows, “When I’m a hero, no one will ever refuse me!” āa dark seed planted.
Soon, dozens of lawsuits land on Bobās doorstep. Public support evaporates. The Relocation Program closes ināthe law is no longer your friend, hero or not.
š Chapter 3: MidāLife Crisis & the Mirageās Message
Fifteen years pass. Bob still misses the action. His workload crushes the last embers of his spirit. His boss, Gilbert Huph, forbids him from helping a mugging victimāso Bob snaps and throws him across the room. Fired. Humiliated. He comes home to a strange encrypted message on his computer:
āMr. Incredible⦠help us stop the danger. Weāll pay.ā
The sender? A mysterious woman named Mirage, offering him a mission on remote Nomanisan Island: stop a rogue sentient robot called the Omnidroid, terrorizing their underwater lab. The chance to be a hero again proves irresistible.
š“ Chapter 4: All That Glittersā¦
Bob flies to the island and chases the Omnidroid through jungle and volcano. He eventually defeats itānot by fighting harder, but by tricking it into detaching its own power source. Victory feels sweet. He returns home, a hero reborn: stronger, slimmer, alive. He asks his fashion designer friend Edna āEā Mode to repair his suit. Edna delights in replacing it with a streamlined, capeless family suit setāand implants suit trackers (but donāt tell Helen!).
Eager for more missions, Bob returns to the island only to discover Mirage is syndicate-aligned, and the mastermind isnāt asking for his helpāitās a recruitment test. Behind the mask of Mirage stands Buddy Pine, now calling himself Syndromeāthe once-adoring sidekick turned villain. Out for vengeance, he plans to kill Bob, and eventually abolish true heroes by selling everyone āself-madeā supers.
Bob is thrown into your run-of-the-mill dungeon, and the island is revealed as a trap.
šØāš©āš§ Chapter 5: Helenās Hunt & The Kids Stow Away
Back home, Helen discovers the suspicious new suits. Realizing Bob lied about “a conference,” she borrows a jet from her pilot friend Snug Porter to follow him. ButāsurpriseāViolet and Dash stow away. Syndrome fires heat-seeking missilesāthe plane explodes! Helen, magically stretching into a speedboat, saves the familyās skin as they hurtle into the ocean.
They wash ashore near Syndromeās lair. Helen diverts the kids someplace safe and heads out to find Bob. She warns Violet and Dash: āIf you need to, use your powers.ā That night, handed a crisis they canāt ignore, Violet lets down her invisible barrier to protect her brotherāfinally growing into her own.
āļø Chapter 6: Family Reunion & The Truth Comes Out
Helen, using Syndrome’s information system, rescues Bob. As the family confronts Mirage, Helen sees the bond between Bob and Mirage. She angrily storms off. Bob, confused, runs after herāand loses her as Mirage quietly leaves the island. Bob soon collapses under the weight of betrayal and threat: āOperation:āÆKronosā, Syndromeās scheme to kill all true heroes by deploying mass-produced Supers gadgets.
šļø Chapter 7: The Invasion of Metroville
The Parrrsānow reunitedāboard Syndromeās stolen jet and return to Metroville. Frozone joins at the last second. Syndromeās plan: release a new, upgraded Omnidroid in the city and then pose as the saviorāearning fame (and rich gadget contracts), while eliminating all real Supers. But his pride is his undoing. The Omnidroidās AI adapts and turns on its creator. With teamwork, the Incredibles and Frozone defeat the robot by smashing its claw into its power core.
Syndrome, furious and unmasked, tries to kidnap baby JackāJack, believing the infant has no powers. Heās wrong: as he threatens JackāJack above a router engine, the baby morphs into tornadoes, becomes laser-eyed, and chaos ensues. A terrified Syndrome flies headāfirst into the jetās engine and is sucked in, exploding and disappearing. Their house lies in ruin.
š Epilogue: Stronger Together
Months later, the Parrs have moved into a simple motel. Violet is considering asking out her school crush, Dash is doing track, and JackāJackāwell, still inside, powers simmering. Then the ground shakes: a drillingāmachine monstrosity rolls into sight. The Underminer announces a battle. The Parrs exchange knowing looks, leap up, suit up, and stand as one. A new superhero family adventure begins.
